Paw Works: Non-profit Works is a nonprofit animal rescue organization dedicated to partnering with county and city shelters to give abandoned animals a second chance at life.
With pet adoption centers in Thousand Oaks and Ventura, our unique locations allow us introduce rescued animals to potential adoptive families in a calm and comfortable setting.
Planned Parenthood: As the most trusted provider of reproductive health care, we promote the ability of all individuals to lead fulfilled lives, build healthy families, and make informed decisions through high-quality health services, education, and advocacy.
Casa Pacifica: We meet kids and families at the most challenging times of their lives and help them overcome some of life’s most difficult circumstances – abuse and neglect, complex emotional and behavioral issues, and family crises. We restore hope, help children find joy in daily living, and improve families’ chances at making a better life for themselves and at finding a place in their community where they can be successful. Casa Pacifica is committed to children unconditionally over time and through all of life’s ups and downs.
Project Understanding: Project Understanding helps the homeless get housed and safe. We keep at-risk individuals and families housed and fed. We tutor hundreds of disadvantaged children every week to bend the arc of their future.
The City Center Transitional Living: We help homeless families, often single parent families, with temporary housing, a place to call their own during that time, where they can feel safe, find some needed stability in their life and have a place where they can concentrate on getting their life under control and look to get a job and needed skills to get back on their feet so they can move out into their own living situations.
Center4SpecialNeeds: Our goal and our vision is to provide as much support as we can in assisting families who are maneuvering through the challenging journey that we face in helping our special needs children to progress in their lives and become all that they can be. “With resources for special populations slowly but surely shrinking, there’s a greater call for all stakeholders to work together to find creative solutions. Center4SpecialNeeds can act as a conduit for parents, non-profits, public agencies, and private businesses to work together toward common goals, allowing information and limited resources to go so much further for the individuals being served.”
A Voice Discovered: The ability to communicate is a fundamental human right. Therefore, it is the mission of this foundation to provide FUNDING ASSISTANCE, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION, SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY to enhance the quality of life for individuals with communication impairments and thus benefit families and their extended community through access to appropriate technology resulting in improved communication means.
Community Action: Community Action of Ventura County, Inc. has dedicated employees, community board members and volunteers who are involved in providing services in the areas of housing, food, employment, homelessness and youth. Community Action actively participates in coalitions, commissions and other public forums dedicated to ensuring a safety net of basic services is accessible throughout Ventura County. Our goal is to increase self-sufficiency among our county’s poorest residents and increase family and community economic stability.
Lideres Campesinas: “Organización en California de Líderes Campesinas, Inc.” represents a culmination of decades of work by farm working women (Campesinas). Farmworker women have been the leaders of many grassroots and mobilizing efforts to improve the lives of farmworker communities. Líderes Campesinas provides these long-time leaders and activists with the opportunity to coordinate their work statewide and has built collectives so that campesinas may become agents of change and be a more effective unified voice.
The Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP): Aiding, organizing and empowering Ventura County’s indigenous immigrant communities.
Ventura County Rescue Mission: The Ventura County Rescue Mission serves the poor and homeless, offering hope to thousands of hurting people. It is the longest standing year-round shelter for homeless men in Ventura County.
Lighthouse For Women and Children: Serving homeless single women and women with children, established its Life Recovery program in 1998, offering a transitional living program that included a program for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. In December of 2003, the Lighthouse established a year-round emergency shelter that also serves as an overflow shelter when the two domestic violence shelters in the County are full.
Pacific Clinics Advancing Behavioral HealthCare: Through its dedicated staff, consumers, family members, volunteers and benefactors, Pacific Clinics provides innovative leadership in our communities, offering treatment, prevention and early intervention, program development and evaluation, research, training, and public education and advocacy, frequently in partnership with other social services organizations.
